Zum See or Zum Blauen See Restaurant  is an easy 35 minute to 1 hour  hike from the town.  This is one of our favorites.

Marti and Max have offered guests traditional and honest cuisine for around 30 years.  Menu offers Swiss specialties as well as non-traditional fare.  Regular hours are 8:30-5.  Special event dinners must be planned in advance.

Sit outside (even in a parka) and enjoy the quaint atmosphere.  There is also seating inside for inclement weather.  Price $$-$$$

Chez Vrony view is fantastic!

Chez Vrony is bucket list worthy!  The view of the Matterhorn that will give you palpitations, the food is ambrosial and the ambiance is other worldly.

You can hike, bike or ski to Chez Vrony or take the Sunegga funicular at The Sunnegga-Rothorn valley station in Zermatt and then walk 10 minutes to the restaurant.

The restaurant serves organic home produce from livestock raised solely on alpine grass.

The ambiance is close to over the top!  Sheep skins and blankets adorn  oversize wooden chaise lounges that cover the sun terrace.  Inside, cozy rooms filled with mountain treasures offer an intimate atmosphere.  Swiss design  Julen chandeliers and furniture define modern mountain chic.  price $$$-$$$$
